Support
We are a small team, and we read every message. Tell us what went wrong, or what you would like Nuri Bible to do, and we will get back to you.
When you write in, it helps to include: your phone model and iOS/Android version, which tab you were on (Scroll, Read, Chat, Plans or Community), and what you expected to happen. Screenshots help too — but please do not send us your password.
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” — Psalm 119:105 (KJV)
Frequently asked questions
Is reading the Bible really free?
Yes. Reading the full Bible, searching it, the Scroll feed, the Verse of the Day, the 7-day Peace plan, your streak, highlights and basic notes are free forever. We will never put the Bible itself behind a paywall. Nuri Bible Pro ($6.99/week, $4.99/month, or $39.99/year, with a 7-day free trial) pays for the extras — unlimited AI Chat, audio and offline reading, all plans, widgets, verse image packs and unlimited groups — not for the Bible.
How do I cancel Nuri Bible Pro?
Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, so you cancel there — not in the app, and not by deleting the app. On iPhone: Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions, then Nuri Bible, then Cancel Subscription. On Android: Play Store, then your profile picture, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions, then Nuri Bible, then Cancel subscription. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for. If you were charged and believe it was a mistake, contact Apple or Google support for a refund — we cannot refund a payment made through the store.
How does AI Chat work?
Tap Chat and ask a Bible, faith, prayer or devotional question — for example, "What does Philippians 4:6 mean?" or "Find me a verse for anxiety." The app sends your question to Google Gemini, which drafts a reply, and then checks every Bible citation against real King James Version or World English Bible text before showing it to you. If a citation cannot be verified, it is not shown. Chat is a study helper, not a pastor: it will not give medical, legal, financial or pastoral-counselling advice, and it will not pretend to speak for God. Free accounts get 3 chats a day; Pro gets 50 a day and 500 a month. If Gemini is temporarily unavailable, Chat will say so honestly and fall back to verse-based answers where it can. If you are in crisis, contact a local emergency service or a crisis helpline — in the US and Canada call or text 988, in the UK call Samaritans on 116 123, in Australia call Lifeline on 13 11 14, and in New Zealand call or text 1737.
How does Find Friends work?
Find Friends is optional — you can skip it and lose nothing. If you turn it on, the app asks your permission to access your contacts. It then hashes the email addresses and phone numbers in your contacts on your own phone and sends only those hashes to our server, to match them against people who have chosen to be findable on Nuri Bible. Your contacts' names, raw emails and raw phone numbers are never uploaded or stored, and the hashes are discarded after the lookup. A person you find sees only your display name, never your email or phone number. You can turn off "Let my contacts find me" in Profile at any time, and you can withdraw contacts permission in your phone's Settings. Inviting someone who is not on Nuri Bible yet is done through your own share sheet — we never send a message on your behalf. At launch, you may see few or no contacts on the app; that is normal, and you can still find people by username or by inviting them.
How can I support Nuri Bible?
There are two ways. In the app, a voluntary “Support Nuri Bible” tip jar lets you leave a one-time tip of $1.99, $4.99 or $9.99 as an in-app purchase — it unlocks nothing, and is simply a way to say thank you. On this website, you can donate to four charitable causes — Bibles for people who cannot afford one, clean water, food for hungry children, and disaster relief — once secure giving through Stripe is set up. Website donations are not open yet: no money has been taken, and no card details are asked for. If you have a question about giving, email [email protected].
How do I delete my account?
In the app: Profile, then Account, then Delete Account. That permanently deletes your reading history, highlights, notes, chat usage counts, groups and posts. It does not cancel a Pro subscription — cancel that in your App Store or Google Play settings first, as described above — and it does not refund past payments. If you cannot access the app, email [email protected] from the email address on the account and ask us to delete it.
The app is not working. What should I try first?
First, check you have the latest version from the App Store or Google Play. Then force-close the app and reopen it, and check your internet connection — the Scroll feed, Chat and Community need one, while downloaded Bible chapters and audio work offline. If a verse, chapter or plan is missing, try the search in the Read tab. If it still does not work, email [email protected] with your phone model, your app version (shown at the bottom of Profile), and what you were doing when it happened.
Which Bible translation does Nuri Bible use?
The King James Version (KJV) and the World English Bible (WEB). We do not use the NIV, ESV, NASB, NKJV, NLT or any other copyrighted translation without a licence.
Can I use Nuri Bible offline?
Yes, with Nuri Bible Pro: download chapters and audio for offline reading and listening. On the free plan, chapters you have already opened stay available offline on your device.
